All artwork copyright Patricia Howitt.  Flynn the Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross in the first and second rows was a much-loved survivor.  I had him for 11 years and he was 20 when he died. You can read his story by clicking on some of the thumbnails in the second row. I've had 2 Border Collies (top center), and this is a detail of a book illustration I recently completed, worked into vector.  Rip, the Huntaway top left belonged to my neighbour. The Border Collie on the bottom left was Boy, a brilliant eye-dog - my first experience with working dogs. Ben, the Black Lab cross bottom right is one of my current team (another survivor). He is part black lab, part ridgeback (hence his long legs) and part huntaway (hence his big voice). The German Shepherd belonged to friends who had a picture-framing shop. I sketched him one day while waiting for some framing to be done.
